Affiliate programs are broken, both for merchants and consumers.
As example, a customer is at your site and about to place an order. However, almost every online shopper today will pop open another tab and google “yoursite coupon” to see if they can get an extra discount, even if you have a great one on your own site.
They end up going to an affiliate site to grab a coupon, or are tricked into a click through, and BOOM!
The merchant is now paying a commission on top of the discount, giving credit to an affiliate that doesn’t deserve it.
That happens on 99% of orders (this is my best guess, could be much higher).
supercrunch wants to fix this. Verified Merchants pay nothing to post their offering, so they can afford to offer greater incentives directly to the consumer.
You, the visitor, control what merchant offerings appear higher on the page based on (amongst other things) your click-through interest. So the more desirable and popular the offer, the higher that merchant offering will be on site.
